Take your SKOGSPAUS in the woods, reconnecting with nature

This regenerative* and relaxing outdoor activity is surprisingly simple: all you need is a spot in the heart of the forest, a few solid trees, and a lightweight hammock.

  • Good vibes and positive energy come from being in a green wilderness and rebalancing your body and mind to the sounds and rhythms of the natural world.

  • Slowly breathe in the clean air of the wild woods, which boosts a deep sense of well-being.

Listening to the birds chirp or the rustle of the trees' leaves in the breeze is a great way to decompress.

  • Looking up at the sky through trees encourages attention restoration and stress reduction.

* Evidence-based: "Forest Bathing" (or Shinrin-yoku, as in Japan, is called the simple act of spending time in a forest) has several powerful health benefits that are backed by science.

Take a book with you and give the SKOGSPAUS a try during your walk in the forests 👍

How to set up your hammock from a tree is simple

Just follow these general guidelines:

1. Look for robust trees that can hold your weight (your tree must be 30cm or greater in diameter, with no dead branches above you).

For the hammock to hang comfortably, the trees should be at least 3.5 to 4.5 meters apart.

2. To reduce the risk of damaging the tree bark through friction, we provide tree-friendly straps made out of flat nylon instead of ropes and wires. It’s important to ensure that the straps are flat against the tree to prevent slipping and to ensure the well-being of the trees.

Hang the hammock at a 30-degree angle to provide stability and prevent excessive strain on the tree (the hammock sags like a banana): center it between the trees (the two ends of the hammock should be at the same height).

Set your hammock up comfortably at a height that is usually slightly above the knees. In addition to offering a distinctive viewpoint of your surroundings, this height guarantees accessibility without putting you in danger of falling. Make sure that there are no objects under the hammock.
